Overview and History
The China Plastics Exhibition & Conference (ChinaPEC), widely recognized as the Taizhou Plastics Fair, is a premier international event for the plastics industry. Founded in 2001, the fair is held annually in Taizhou, Zhejiang Province – one of China’s most significant plastics manufacturing hubs. Taizhou is home to over 12,000 plastics producers and consumes more than six million tons of raw materials annually, providing an unparalleled industrial foundation for the event. The fair serves as a comprehensive platform covering the entire industry value chain, including plastic raw materials, finished products, machinery, and molds.
The fair’s history is deeply rooted in Taizhou’s local industrial development. The city’s molding and plastics sector began in the 1950s, gained momentum in the 1970s, and became a pillar industry by the 1990s. The inaugural fair was held in 2001 at the Taizhou International Convention Center in Luqiao. In 2024, the 21st edition marked a significant relocation to the new, larger Taizhou International Expo Center, signifying a fresh chapter for the event.
Over its history, ChinaPEC has grown substantially in prestige and scale. Since 2005, it has been recognized by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce as a key supported exhibition for the plastics industry. A major milestone was achieved in 2020 when it received UFI (The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry) certification, marking its status as an international brand event. Recent editions, such as the 22nd in 2025, were held under the theme “Gathering Plastics Toward Innovation, Leading the Future with Quality,” showcasing innovations in intelligent manufacturing, new materials, and green environmental protection.
Key Features and Scale
The fair is distinguished by its comprehensive “four-in-one” display, integrating plastics raw materials, products, machinery, and molds to reflect the complete local industrial chain of Taizhou. This unique structure fully leverages the city’s industrial cluster advantages, offering exhibitors and visitors direct access to the region’s robust manufacturing ecosystem.
Recent editions have consistently demonstrated the fair’s significant scale. The 21st edition (2024) featured over 1,000 enterprises across a 40,000-square-meter exhibition area. The 22nd edition (2025) brought together over 300 companies across 30,000 square meters. The event regularly attracts tens of thousands of professional visitors and hundreds of international buyers from more than 30 countries, cementing its role as a crucial global hub for the plastics industry and a vital showcase for Taizhou’s industrial strength.
